Frances Avila

Racine - Frances Guadalupe Avila, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 19, 2024. Born on December 12, 1961, in Racine, Wisconsin, Frances was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel Reyes Avila and Hortencia Avila (nee Salas). Frances dedicated the last 14 years of her manufacturing career to Case New Holland Industrial as an assembler. Known for her exceptionally strong and tireless work ethic, Frances was also a proud member of the UAW Local 180 Union; forging lifelong friendships and connections with fellow workers. To say she had a passion for sports would be an understatement. A true sports enthusiast, Frances would never pass up the chance to cheer on her beloved Green Bay Packers or watch a WWE Smackdown. However, her love of sports was surpassed by her faith in Jesus. As a cherished member of Redeemer Parkside Church in Kenosha, Frances lived with a faith that could move mountains, drawing strength and peace from our Lord and Savior. She embodied Christ’s love, touching lives through her acts of kindness, encouragement, and generosity. Her generous heart extended far beyond her immediate family with a deep compassion and love for children. As a true reflection of her commitment to helping others, Frances was a frequent supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Above all else, Frances adored her family and saw them as her greatest blessing. She was incredibly proud of her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy, laughter and love. Those blessed to call her Momma, Nana or Tia, she was a constant source of love and support to all. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will remain a guiding light in their lives forever. Frances will be deeply missed by her children: Angie (Mark Ruiz) Lorenzo, Alicia (Thomas) Fuss, Annette (Billy) Bass, Ana (Jason) Flores, and Augustine (Tara Flores) Aranda. Frances will also be missed by her grandchildren: Anthony, Steven, Olivia, Evette, Isaac, Blake (Brooke), Dominic, Aleena, Nevaeh, Christian, Victoria, Vivian, Angel, Desmond, Alissa, Christopher, Ava, and Augustine Jr., as well as her great-grandchildren: Manuel, Nayeli, Sofia, Reyes, Giovanni, Baylor, Blair, Alice, Theo, and Aaleah. Frances will also be loving missed by her beloved Mother, Hortencia, her siblings: Anna (Samuel) Torres, Esther (Armando) Martinez, Andy (Lisa) Avila, and Roseann Martinez, as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Avila; sister, Dolores Fuentes; brothers-in-law: Alfredo Fuentes and Ralph Martinez; and nephew Jose Torrez. Services to honor Frances’ life will be held at Redeemer Parkside Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor David Graff officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Racine. Frances leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness and generosity that will live on through each of us; her unwavering love will be forever remembered. “We’ll miss you babe… with all of my heart and soul.”
