David James Christensen RACINE – David James Christensen, age 85, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home. David was born to the late J. Dewey and Marian (Cooper) Christensen on April 23, 1929 in Racine. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the Air Force, and later worked as an Operation Manager in the South Pacific Islands. Surviving are his sister, Colleen Christensen; two nieces, Julie (Randy) Schwantes and her daughter, Kelly, and Lynn Dewane and her children, Joshua and Rachel; one nephew, Patrick Dewane; cousins on the Cooper side, Harry (Rosemary Potthast) Cooper, his children, Tom, Gary, Mike, Kathy, Pat and Pam, Lillian (the late Laurence) Cooper, her children, Gail (Scott) Kapke, Susan (Harry) Bryant and Karin (Mike) Kohlman, her children, Cooper and Joey, and Brian and Jay Cooper; cousins on the Christensen side, Richard Christensen, Joyce (Bobby) Gerber, Janet Wiedner, and Edward (Barbara) Evenson. David is preceded in death by two sisters, Diane Dewane and Sybil Christensen, who was stillborn; and four cousins, Jackson Cooper, Laurence Cooper, Frank Christensen and Barbara Evenson. A Memorial Service is to be held at noon on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Veteran’s Memorial Chapel in Union Grove. Colleen Vice will officiate.
